Welcome back to This Week in Indie Games! It’s looking like another great week in the indie-sphere, with some awesome new titles to sink our teeth into. There’s some spooky golf going on, animals are ready to party, and some classic creature-collecting action… Let’s get this list started!

Dungeon Golf (September 18)

A multiplayer mini-golf game with several twists, Dungeon Golf is a golf-themed party game where you’ll compete with your friends in online or local multiplayer, or play solo to win trophies and climb to the top. Arriving in Steam Early Access, Dungeon Golf serves up enemies to defeat, special abilities to unleash, and many a hole in none to hopefully achieve.

Each character has unique skill sets to utilise, but you’ll need to avoid traps, obstacles and annoyances by using well-timed and well-aimed shots to make the most of them! The Dungeon Sports Network will throw everything at you for the sake of entertainment: walls of spikes, swinging axes and even buckets of lava! Dungeon Golf comes to Steam Early Access on September 18.

Spirited Thief (September 19)

Spirited Thief is a tactical turn-based stealth game with a rather interesting twist. You’ll play as Elaj, a thief with a few magic tricks up his sleeve, and Trin, his partner-in-crime who happens to be a rather helpful ghost! Use Trin to scout ahead and plan your heist, before sending in Elaj to loot away and steal the treasures that await!

Operating under the infamous Thieves’ guild, you’ll need to outsmart enemies, sneak through locked doors, and break down magical barriers. Spirited Thief shakes up the stealth genre in a super cool way, and I am excited to see how it pans out over the full distance, especially as there seems to be a lot of variety in level design and abilities as you progress.

Spirited Thief sneaks onto Steam on September 19…

Party Animals (September 20)

Party Animals is a fun and chaotic party game where you’ll be brawling with your friends controlling puppies, kittens and plenty of other fuzzy animals in a variety of different settings! Featuring a variety of different game modes, such as deathmatch, team deathmatch, and capture the flag. In this floppy physics-based world, the only guarantee is that mayhem will always be on the menu.

Both local and online multiplayer means you’ll be able to play with friends and foes anywhere, but I reckon this is the kind of game that will shine when you’re together with your friends on the couch! Party Animals comes to Steam Early Access on September 20.

Moonstone Island (September 20)

An open-world deckbuilder with an adorable aesthetic, Moonstone Island is about your trip to an island in the sky! In order to perfect your alchemy skills, you’ll spend a year away from home, and naturally that involves living on a sky island! Armed with simple tools, Alchemical recipes, and the ability to tame nature spirits, you set out to start your new life in a land stifled by wild spirits and dark forces.

There’s locals to meet, crops and flowers to grow, and a whole collection of helpful spirits who’ll assist you on your form. Moonstone Island comes to Steam on September 20.

Astrea: Six-Sided Oracles (September 21)

Astrea: Six-Sided Oracles is a narrative-driven card game set in a world where magic is powered by belief. Take on the role of a powerful individual known as the Prophet, who can wield the power of the mysterious Six-Sided Oracles, and use your cards to influence the world around you.

The game features a branching narrative with multiple endings, depending on the choices you make throughout a playthrough, and you’ll need to use all your cards to solve puzzles, defeat enemies, and persuade allies. Beware, every decision has consequences… Astrea: Six-Sided Oracles arrives on PC, Switch, and Xbox platforms on September 21.

Only the five games this week, but they all look pretty tasty don’t they! I’m currently close to wrapping up Sea of Stars which has been a real blast, what about you? I’m already planning a piece about SoS which I can’t wait to share.
